The totem pole.

My Mother once told me that when you have children, you lose your spot on the totem pole. Your focus in life shifts completely. I think about that often when I photograph moms with their babies. I have yet to meet a mom who has been anything less than thrilled at the decision to forfeit their position on life’s totem pole.

I knew when I saw this image that the focus had to be solely on this beautiful new momma. I love it. It’s not hard to see that she glows, just being around her two favorite boys… 

And yes, that is drool that you see from Logan’s mouth. Ha. I thought about cloning it out, but really… with six month olds, isn’t drool just part of the deal? =)
