Clients often ask if they can include their pet in their photo session and the answer is 100%, always, a big fat YES! I love it. Dogs are always welcome at the studio, and I always include them when shooting at a client’s home. They’re part of the family. And are often considered a “first baby.” This goldendoodle, Ted, was pretty much the star of their maternity session (http://www.aprilziegler.com/prophecy-creek-maternity-session-moira-kevin-and-dog-ted) and was just as cooperative (and adorable!) when I came to do sweet little Beau’s newborn session.
Beau was only 6 days old for his newborn session, but was really alert and his eye contact was on point. Most babies that young are not able to focus that well, at first they are only able to clearly see things that are 8-12 inches from their face. This makes it hard to get photos of them with their eyes open. But look at the photos of Beau below… eyes open AND some really cute expressions!
