Yesterday, April Ziegler Photography was featured on an awesome site called MacroMutt.com. MacroMutt is a great resource to help dog lovers connect with pet photographers in their area. Or you could just browse the site and admire all the fabulous pet photography…ย

  • Alleigh - Congratulations!

  • Sarah Lockard - very cool!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Judy! - As soon as the weather gets nice I want to hire you to take some new pictures. Tucher is now 8 months old and weighs 74 pounds!

Here are more pups at the PSPCA that really need a home! If you know anyone looking for a new furry family member, please pass this on to them.

We will start with an awesome dog who is somewhat of a local celebrity… Meringue…

Meringue was featured on Good Day Philadelphia with Jen Utley, wife of Chase Utley. Check on Meringue’s television debut…ย

AND she was included in Bounce’s 15 Most Loveable Pets contest, which you can view by clicking HERE!ย Another available pup, Baby, is also Loveable contestant. Here is Baby if you missed her in the past post…

A very cute fluffball named Dany…

A beautiful, energetic guy named Marshmallow…

The sweetest, mellow older man… Otis Redding…

And this girl, who stole my heart. Her name is Sparkles. She is a Mastiff that is around 10yrs old. She came from a neglect situation which is heartbreaking. But even though she was treated poorly, she is so loving and calm. As I walked the aisle she stood up to the gate and rested her head on top, glancing in my direction with those sweet brown eyes. I approached her and petted her head. Her eyes slowly closed as she enjoyed the attention and love for a few minutes. How I hope that someone gives her the loving home that she deserves…

  • Kim Wolf - These doggies are so sweet and your pictures of incredible! I had Dany (the black poodle mix) at an adoption event in Manayunk last week and he was hilarious strutting up and down Main Street. He’s shy in the shelter, but once he’s out in the “real world” he comes to life! Everyone wanted to stop and pet him!

Marshmallow is (the white terrier mix) is another one of my favorites. We took him to a Mardi Gras event in Old City a couple weeks ago and he was a PARTY ANIMAL! To celebrate Fat Tuesday, we gave him a fuzzy beer bottle (a dog toy, of course!) and he went to town on it. When he was finished, he rolled over on his back and took a snooze — right there in the middle of the sidewalk! It was hilarious! He’d be perfect for someone looking for a running partner AND a snuggling companion.

Thanks for all your work, April!! You are very talented and the animals appreciate your efforts ๐Ÿ™‚

This time of year is rough… one day being sunny and warm, and the next being dreary and freezing! Such a tease. Here is an old shot of Chloe, enjoying warm weather on our deck. You will notice our flourishing green herb garden in the background… thanks entirely to my husband. I can’t keep a cactus alive. But he managed to grow so many fantastic things. But back to the focus of this post, Chloe’s cute mug… ย

And in contrast, here is a shot of Lucy just a few short weeks ago in the snow! She does not mind it one bit… as you can tell by the fact that she stuck her face in a snow pile…

  • sarah - omg…..gracie LOVES the snow too! she snuffles her schnauzer face right in there and comes up SO cute! aw lucy….how i long to meet you ๐Ÿ™‚

Today I tackled my first pup session with three dogs! I was nervous about chasing around three dogs at the same time… but really, how could it be anything but fun? And after it was all over, all three dogs conked out. I think that using the brick fireplace as a pillow is a sign of a REALLY good time…

  • megan - i love this picture, april. i can’t wait to see the other pictures of my babies! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • becky serpe - awwwwwww!! ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Rachel - Ha! That doesn’t look very comfortable. How cute!

  • Allison - Great photo! I’m sure you felt like doing the same after a 3-dog photo shoot! Can’t wait to see the rest!

  • Christy - That’s such a cute picture!!!

  • Li W. - haha! you wore him out!

As I was wandering the aisles of the PSPCA last weekend, taking photos of the pups, I looked over and saw another volunteer, Terrie, snuggling with a new puppy named Star. It’s not hard to see how much the volunteers love the animals there. It’s also not hard to see why…ย
