Last weekend I had a session with another bulldog. I absolutely love that I’ve gotten to meet so many bullies recently. I feel very lucky, I can’t get enough of them. Each one is different, but with an equally hilarious personality. This sneak peek is for a winner of a gift certificate from Bullyfest… we met in Philly to photograph their pup, Jersey Girl…

This shot was taken right before Jersey almost got arrested. Don’t ask, her lawyer advised her not to talk about it…

Jersey’s mom made this collar for her. Look at her rockin the bling…

And lastly, Jersey and her mama, looking beautiful…

  • becky - I LOVE that first one. Makes me want to bring one home. And great action shot too!

  • john...of johnwairephoto - i love that 1st shot. i want a bull dog!!!

Sometimes a photo just calls out for black and white processing. Other times, the color is what makes the image. With this photo, I just couldn’t decide. So I thought I’d ask for help… which do you prefer:  the black and white or the color version? Please help this indecisive girl out and leave a comment with your preference.

This is a greyhound that stopped by my tent at the dog walk… I love the long lines of their skinny heads…

  • Stacey - I feel like so much of this story is about the color… While both are gorgeous – and a unique perspective – I see so much more into the eyes of this beautiful dog in the color version.

  • Nancy - This really tough. I’m partial to black and white but the color one seems to bring out the sweet personality of the dog.

  • Wendy - Black and White is my fav! I love the texture it draws out on the dog’s face.

  • Stephanie - A Really really really tough call. However my vote is for color 🙂

  • Stephanie S. - I prefer the color for this one.

  • Rachel - You are a lot like me…I will sit and stare at a photo for a long time going back and forth between color and black and white. I think I prefer the color for this photo. Those eyes are such a pretty brown!

  • judy G - Both are great but my fav is the color.

  • Sarah - im favoring the color but both are great

  • john...of johnwairephoto - COLOR all the way…

  • Julie - I vote for color- I love the beautiful brown of the eyes!!

  • melissa - I like the b&w – for texture!

I find that sessions with children are more similar to sessions with dogs than you’d think. Both are adorable. And fun. And FAST! Both can often be bribed, but ultimately they’re going to do their own thing so you have to be ready for it. And sometimes, their own thing looks a lot like this…

Is it a perfect portrait? No. But I love it… because it’s real life. All kids piled on their Grandpop. Some more happy about it than others. Little Leah was not having it. All she wanted to do is be held by her Daddy. What a little doll she is…

And of course while I was there I had to take some shots of their furry family members. Meet Zoe…

And Glory…

  • Nicole - Phew! Sessions with so many people and pets are tough, but you totally pull it off! Plus any blogpost with a boxer steals my heart! Well done, as usual!

  • johnwaire | photo - you’ve got a knack for it all. good show as always 🙂

  • Sarah - beautiful

  • Rachel - That little girl with her dad is adorable! She looks like a little Gap model. 🙂

  • Zoe - I LOVE that second shot!

Are you ready for some football? Training Camp is just around the corner and the PSPCA adoptable animals can’t wait! Join Jon Runyan, Barrett Brooks and other NFL players for a Tailgate Party at the PSPCA’s Philadelphia Adoption Center on Saturday, June 6 from 1-5 p.m.

Enjoy food and fun, face painting, moon bounce, football toss, autographs, adorable pets and more! All proceeds will fund the construction of the PSPCA’s Dog Park to help exercise and rehabilitate abused and neglected animals.

I’ll be there, camera in hand, to capture all the fun (and try to sneak into the moon bounce!). Come out for a good time to support a wonderful cause.

When I was a kid, one of my good friends had an impressive hidden talent… She could touch her tongue to her nose. She could do it with no effort. And as hard as I tried, I couldn’t even come close. Still can’t. But this weekend I met someone who could put my friend to shame…

Don’t worry Jill… This doesn’t count as your sneak peek! That’s coming soon…
