BarkBox time! The opening of this month’s BarkBox was once again crashed by a nosy, and increasingly scruffy, mini-schnauzer. Lucy wouldn’t leave the room as I opened and photographed all the goodies in their BarkBox, so of course she was bribed to model for a few shots like last month. It doesn’t take much bribery. And since I like to get the dog’s expert opinions anyway, it works out that she sticks with me during the monthly unveiling. Win win.

Below are the descriptions of each item, as written on the postcard that BarkBox includes:

Pet Qwerks Red Tree Frog Toy – No matter what language you say it in, “ribbit” means ribbit! This plush frog from Qwerks will hop its way into your pup’s heart as a new favorite friend. And we all know what happens when you kiss a frog… ($8)

R2P Monkey Silly Bums – From king of the jungle to king of your living room, this monkey will make a great new pack member. With enticing crinkling and squeaking sounds, this silly bum (indeed it is!) from R2P Pet is great for cuddling, fetching, and general monkeying around. ($8)

Healthy Dogma Blissful Banana Crisps – Grain and gluten-free, Healthy Dogma’s Banana Crisps are made from bananas and coconut oil – and that’s it! They can be enjoyed right from the package for a tasty source of Potassium, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin C. Or try mixing it in with breakfast or dinner for an extra special meal time. ($12)

Primal Freeze-Dried Beef Treats – Made from USA beef with no added hormones or antibiotics! This healthy, high-protein snack from Primal Pet Foods is grain and gluten free. There’s no added sugar, salt, or preservatives, but plenty of great flavor that’s good for your pup! ($9)

The red tree frog toy is almost too cute to give to the dogs (who will redoubtably tear it apart). Apparently my toddler thinks so too, as she stole the frog and took it to bed with her the first night, even after the dogs played with it and slobbered on it all day. A little slobber never hurt anyone. Our Boston Terrier, Chloe, does love the frog. It fits in her mouth perfectly while she sleeps and it has held up to her chewing for two weeks now. The Silly Bums too was the first thing that I saw when I opened the BarkBox. It was pretty funny to open up the box to a butt, but I have to say that a toy with only a butt and no head is a little disconcerting. Only to me. The dogs really love this… Both of them have been seen bouncing around with a monkey butt in their mouths. I think that they enjoy that it both crinkles and squeaks. I have to admit that I was a little skeptical of the Banana Crisps. It just didn’t seem like something the dogs would love. I was wrong. They both have been digging them and I like that it’s a healthy, and different than normal, kind of treat. I also love the idea of being able to mix a few in with their meal once in awhile to spice things up for them. And the dogs are definitely loving Freeze-Dried Beef Treats… I mean, what’s not to love there for a dog?

Another thumbs up for this month’s BarkBox. We are now half way through our six month subscription and haven’t had a bad product yet. The pups are loving the new monthly goodies and I think it’s so fun to have surprises for them each month!
