One of my all-time faves, and the pup of last weekend’s bride + groom… This is a bloodhound named Cash…

This time of year is rough… one day being sunny and warm, and the next being dreary and freezing! Such a tease. Here is an old shot of Chloe, enjoying warm weather on our deck. You will notice our flourishing green herb garden in the background… thanks entirely to my husband. I can’t keep a cactus alive. But he managed to grow so many fantastic things. But back to the focus of this post, Chloe’s cute mug…
And in contrast, here is a shot of Lucy just a few short weeks ago in the snow! She does not mind it one bit… as you can tell by the fact that she stuck her face in a snow pile…

Today I tackled my first pup session with three dogs! I was nervous about chasing around three dogs at the same time… but really, how could it be anything but fun? And after it was all over, all three dogs conked out. I think that using the brick fireplace as a pillow is a sign of a REALLY good time…

During Cash’s session, Jill mentioned that one of her favorite things about him is the way he goes down the stairs. He hesitates at the top because he knows what is about to happen. It’s as if he pauses before taking a leap of faith. As he starts to descend his ears flop uncontrollably and his skin folds roll forward on his head, covering his eyes and forcing him to continue down the stairs almost blindly. It is both sad and hilariously funny at the same time. So we had to try to capture that. And while none of the images turned out to be anything spectacular individually… I animated them to give everyone a glance at Cash’s descent down the stairs…

When Jill contacted me to shoot her new Bloodhound puppy, I was thrilled! Puppy!?! Say no more. I’m in. I arrived equipped with treats, as I always do. Surely the puppy will like the inch size biscuits that we buy for our pups. Ha. I was mistaken. At 4 months, Cash weighs in at a substantial 50LBS! He scoffed at my mini-sized biscuits. My apologies, boy, next time I promise to come prepared. If you’d like to see Cash’s slideshow… click HERE!
Photographing a big dog was a nice change of pace for me. Cash is so sweet and calm. And his abundance of droopiness just melts my heart. How can you do anything but smile when you get to come home to this face…
I love his total body wrinkles… even his doggie elbows are wrinkly. So cute.

And this one makes me laugh… Those ears!!
