a furry observer…

Riley curiously watched the flurry of activity as the bride prepared for her wedding day. She perched herself on the bed so she could get a good view of the action and avoid being underfoot. And she just watched…

Home…

Though I feel completely blessed to have gotten the opportunity to shoot a wedding in a place as amazing as Aruba, there’s something to be said for being home. The wedding was incredibly beautiful, and I’ll be posting more from it shortly along with several other weddings and sessions so get ready for this blog to come back to life! In the meantime, take a look at where I spent the last several days…

{sneak peek} nicole + jason

As I sit here on my last night in Aruba, I am sad to be leaving paradise but am so honored to have been a part of the last few days celebrating Nicole+Jason’s destination wedding! I wanted to post some images for the newlyweds, though it was nearly impossible to choose only five photos for a sneak peek. The images that you see from this wedding are both mine and my good friend/fellow photographer Bernadette’s, who is here shooting with me. Congratulations and much love, Nicole+Jason… Enjoy the rest of your honeymoon!

Nicole was a completely stunning bride…

And Jason looked so GQ…

Love, love, love this. There was so much laughter throughout the day…

{pup shoot} Guinness, Meatball, and Guido :: philadelphia pet photography

Angela warned that her house is a bit chaotic. With three dogs and a three year old, I would expect no less. The pups love the backyard, so we let them do their thing and tried to capture them in their element. Meatball and Guido were thrilled to run around the yard, mostly trying to avoid the camera, while Guinness was much more an observer of the madness than a participant. I have to admit… Guido cracks. me. up. From his hilarious personality to his unique look (I think he would be the result if Chewbacca + Don King had a baby)… You can’t look at him and not smile. And sometimes, it looks like he’s smiling back…

This shot is Meatball’s favorite thing in the world to do… The neighbors have dogs and he sits fixated on that fence, waiting for them to come out. When they do, he and the neighbor dogs race back and forth along the fence like madmen. But until then, he just sits and stares…

a destination wedding… almost

The blog has been quiet recently. I know. Not because I’m not shooting, but because I’m busy preparing to leave in 2 days to shoot the wedding of the fabulous couple below… in ARUBA! I love traveling, and being a destination bride myself, destination weddings feel like my comfort zone. It’s an honor to realize that someone loves my work enough to fly me to an island to capture their big day. I feel very blessed to do what I do.

I first met Jason and Nicole almost exactly a year ago at Bullyfest. They were outgoing, friendly, and fiercely passionate about their bulldog Millie. It’s funny to think that within a year I will have documented their bulldog Millie’s puppy stage, their engagement, and now their wedding! Unfortunately, we will miss Bullyfest this year since it’s the day after the wedding (April 24, this Saturday!)… but I have to thank Bullyfest for bringing Jason and Nicole into my life!
