DeBella’s Dog Walk winner…

Sunday was the 7th Annual DeBella Dog Walk at Green Lane Park and I was thrilled to participate. Despite the ridiculously HOT temperature, many dogs and their owners came out to the event. I got to photograph so many furry faces, that I can’t wait to share. So thank you to all that stopped by my table, and a BIG thank you to all that entered the drawing for a $100 gift certificate for my pet photography.

Since my husband was distracted by the ball game, I tried to convince my pup Chloe to help me choose a winner. Turns out that she is afraid of the glass vase that held the raffle tickets. She refused to get too close, even after I put a doggy bone at the bottom in an attempt to lure her over. Strange dog and her irrational fears. The winner is…

RACHEL DERR!!!

Rachel, please e-mail me at:  aprilziegler@gmail.com to claim your gift certificate!

Television segment featuring my pet photography… Watch it here!

I was beyond flattered when I found out that ABC wanted to follow me at Bullyfest to do a piece on the event and my pet photography. Jaw open, no words, kind of flattered. I am very excited to share the segment produced by 6ABC for their new show, FYI Philly. They did an amazing job! The piece aired on last Saturday at 7 p.m., but if you missed it, you can watch it by clicking on video 4 of 8 here:

Bullyfest!

Bullyfest was an amazing day! I was in awe of the turnout… so many dog owners, so much bully-love. Bulldog owners are very passionate about the breed. It’s not hard to see why. Bullies are sweet, loveable, hilariously funny and so full of personality. I dare you to watch the slideshow and not fall in love…

There is BIG NEWS for April Ziegler Photography… I will be making my television debut tomorrow night, Saturday, on 6ABC’s new show FYI Philly! They came out to cover Bullyfest and interview me about my pet photography. Tune in to watch at 7p.m… you’ll want to see if your bulldog will be featured! So very exciting! {If you missed the segment, you can view it here by clicking on video 4 of 8: FYI PHILLY}

The online magazine that I have partnered with, AroundMainLine.com, has written an outstanding article that completely captures Bullyfest. Click on: You Big Bully to read the article and see some additional photos that are not included in this post. You know you can’t get enough of the bully beauty…

Here are a few images from Bullyfest that I particularly enjoy, followed by the slideshow of as many pups as I could cram in. If you would like to purchase an image, please contact me at: aprilziegler@gmail.com. A huge thank you to HeavenSent Bulldog Rescue for allowing me to be a part of such an extraordinary event. Enjoy!

This guy’s expression cracks me up every time I see it…

This is Moby. I believe he was the smallest pup at Bullyfest. He got a ton of attention, and rightly so…

Violet. She is currently looking for a family of her very own. How can you resist this face??

Gotta love a good snaggletooth…

And Millie + her proud papa…

What will YOU be doing this weekend…?

This weekend is PACKED with fun activities for April Ziegler Photography. I’m excited… the weather is expected to be beautiful and perfect for a weekend full of outdoor activities. Feel free to leave a comment to share what you’ll be doing this weekend… and if I can look forward to seeing you at one of the following fantastic events. Let’s start with Sunday and work our way backwards:

Sunday, April 26th

Sunday I will be participating in the 7th Annual DeBella Dog Walk at Green Lane Park. This is guaranteed to be a fabulous event. It is a day promoting better dog ownership and the work of animal shelters and rescue groups in our area. There will be contests, pet product vendors, dog caricaturists, a police K-9 demonstrations, agility demos, and a chance to stop by my table to have a candid shot of your pup’s cute mug taken that you may purchase online. Make sure you stop by my table to enter a raffle for a chance to win a $100 GIFT CERTIFICATE FOR APRIL ZIEGLER PHOTOGRAPHY! Proceeds for the raffle will benefit the participating charities and rescue groups. It will be a good time for dogs and dog owners alike.

Saturday, April 25th

Saturday I will be photographing an event for the PSPCA called Lovers Not Fighters Charity Race at Ridley Creek State Park. There is a 7K run, 5K run, and 3K walk. Dogs on a leash are welcome to attend! Registration is between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. The mission of the race is to raise awareness of the daily violence, cruelty, and neglect that many animals endure. The race will benefit the Etana Fund to Stop Cruelty against Animals. Animal abuse is a significant problem in Philadelphia. Etana is one of the dogs that was tragically affected by this. You may visit the race website linked above for more details about this fund.  Etana’s legacy is one of hope and change, so please come out to support this great cause. There will be an awards ceremony following the race and a raffle drawing for many great prizes. There is also a Post-Game Party held at Winner Circle Tavern with free food and drink specials for race participants.

Friday, April 24th

Come out Friday evening, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. to Pabby’s Pet Pantry in Hatboro for Wine & Kibble Casino night. There will be good food, wine tasting and plenty of doggy treats. Each casino game will have raffle baskets and gifts that you could win! Wine + Games + Pups… How could it be anything but fun?

{Sneak}peek: Tristan

On Sunday I got to meet Molly + Tim, and photograph their furbaby… Tristan. He’s an English Cocker Spaniel and just recently turned one year old. He was a bit hesitant for the first few minutes I was there, but soon let loose and ran wild. He is such a happy dog and I think he enjoyed being the center of attention…

And I’ve been wanting to do this shot for awhile now so thank you Molly + Tim for humoring me! They probably thought I was crazy when I asked them to circle the parking lot while I chased the car with my camera. I have always wanted a dog that would hang it’s head out the window, ears flapping in the wind. What I love most about this photo is that everyone is smiling, you can kind of see my smiling reflection in the window… it even looks like Tristan is smiling!

Thank you Molly, Tim, + Tristan for a wonderful afternoon…
